Meeting point and time: Station Hotel, Birstwith (HG3 3AG), 09:30 for an 09:45 start. Lunch also at the Station Hotel at ~12:45

Route:  A combination of level walking alongside the River Nidd, together with an ascent to, and descent from, Burnt Yates (total ascent ~95m). The great majority of the walk is on field and riverside paths, with very little road walking. There should be extensive views on a fine day.

It’s late January – some mud is almost certain and the downhill section will require care at times. There are 12 easy stiles.
