SUMMARY:Monthly Walk: The Ripon Canal
DESCRIPTION:The walk is on paths tracks and some roadway for approximately 4.5 miles with level terrain. \nStart at the Ripon Canal car park ( 9.45 for 10.00) on Boroughbridge Road off the Ripon by-pass. If coming from Ripon\, you will see the canal on your right – you will see the fencing for Lock House turn right immediately after it then immediately right into the car park area. \nLunch is booked for 1pm at the Inn at South Stainley (please remember to enter your car registration at reception). \nPlease notify the leader before Saturday 20th if you are walking and or lunching.  Note that we need to pre-order our lunch. SUMMARY:Monthly Walk: Grimwith Reservoir
DESCRIPTION:A circular walk of 4.5 miles\, 2 to 2.5 hours expected duration.\nPretty flat and very pretty too – no stiles. \nAbout a 45 minute drive from Harrogate via Pateley Bridge or Greenhow Hill on the B6265 towards Grassington. Just before Dibble’s Bridge (BD23 5ED) the access road for the reservoir’s (free) car park is on your right\, marked with blue Yorkshire Water signs.  The walk will start at 10:00am \nLunch will be at the Craven Arms\, Appletreewick\, which is highly regarded for its food and ambience.

DESCRIPTION:Meet at 9.30am at the Staveley Nature Reserve car park of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. From Staveley village take the Minskip/Boro’bridge road and at the new housing estate turn left into the car park. Space for about 15 cars so we should be okay. \nThe walk is about 4.25 miles mostly flat with a couple of stiles. Good walking shoes or boots advised. \nLunch will be at the Blue Bell\, Arkendale (HG5 0QT) at 1.15pm.

DESCRIPTION:With the terrible weather of late I have been looking for a walk where at least some of it will be on good surfaces. Certainly not a time to be heading too far afield. \nPlease meet at 10.00 at the Conyngham Hall car park in Knaresborough\, where parking is £1.50 for 4 hours. DESCRIPTION:Meet at the Timble/Blubberhouses crossroads at 9:45 for a 10:00 start \nWeather and ground conditions have forced a change from the originally-planned walk\, and it will now be a shorter one on stone or gravel paths\, with about a half mile of grassy fields.  Mostly a good walking surface\, although there is one disgusting muddy section of about 200 yards that cannot be avoided\, and it should take less than 2 hours. \nLunch afterwards will still be at the Timble Inn\, but now with a 12:30 start
