On May 4th, Geoff Queen gave us a talk on “A to Z of Europe”. He took us through a set of slides of different, mostly lesser known, places in Europe that he had visited for business or pleasure over the years. Members were asked to guess what the places, starting with different letters of the alphabet, were. The well-travelled audience got some places, but were bamboozled with others. Geoff gave us interesting details about each of the places, such as Bayreuth in Germany (Wagner), Elsinore in Denmark (Hamlet), Wroclaw in Poland (Architecture) and Tromso in Norway (Tirpitz)
